The Chartway Group site team at Conningbrook Lakes, Ashford, Kent is taking recycling one step further.
Rather than adding all their waste timber into the generic site recycling process where it is taken off-site by one collection contractor, they have set up another solution which makes even better use of it.
They are working with Woodpeckers of Kent, one of a network of 30 social enterprises in used for recycling and selling on to the public, and for their own commercial projects. They work with disadvantaged people providing them with volunteering opportunities, hands-on work experience, training and social connections.
